Roman Reigns talks Wyatt Family feud, facing Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, more

Reigns says the feud with The Wyatts isn’t ending anytime soon

The former Shield members Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose teamed up with Chris Jericho, but they still fell to the Wyatt Family on Sunday. The issues between the two sides date back a couple of years, but the feud was reignited at Money in the Bank, when Bray Wyatt prevented Reigns from winning the ladder match.

The issues were exacerbated when Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper were brought into the fold. Reigns spoke to The Caller Times from Corpus Christi to promote Tuesday’s Smackdown tapings. Reigns discusses his hernia surgery and his rivalry with Bray Wyatt. The full interview is at this link. Below are some highlights:

On feuding with the Wyatt Family:

Despite facing  defeat in the match with The Wyatt Family, Roman Reigns remains unperturbed. And his rivalry with the sinister backwoods cult may tear through the American Bank Center come Tuesday. He says he just wants to take down the Wyatt Army in order to get out of the swamp. He also made his intentions clear saying he and Dean would continue breaking heads as long as the Wyatts keep adding people.

“I’m just trying to get out of the swamp. The goal is to take down this Wyatt Army. I don’t think it’s going to end any time soon. If the Wyatts keep adding people, then me and (Dean) Ambrose will continue to break heads.” he says.

On does he feel he’s blessed:

Reigns says he’s a devout Roman Catholic. Although we might not see his religious side too often, he thanks God for everything and feels blessed to get so many opportunities. Reigns, a childhood fan of the San Francisco 49ers, said the experience, which included training and media opportunities at the 49ers' home stadium, feels was God sent.

“You don’t really hear it enough, but I got to thank God for everything. I feel really blessed with the opportunities. I feel it was just completely God-sent, and a bucket list check-off for me.”

On facing Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 31:

Since his return, Reigns won the Royal Rumble match in January, an honor he almost seized last year. He also went the distance with then-WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania in front of a record-breaking crowd of 76,796 fans at Levi's Stadium.

“Just the moment alone makes it the best opportunity (and) the best night I’ve ever had.”
