Roman Reigns to turn babyface at SummerSlam; Cody Rhodes betrayed by major star? 6 twists that are possible during tonight's Bloodline Rules Match
Cody Rhodes has found himself in quite a pickle for SummerSlam. Originally intending to take on Solo Sikoa one-on-one, The American Nightmare has made things insanely tougher for himself. How? Well, last night on SmackDown, he agreed to a Bloodline Rules match.
Just a refresher, the Bloodline Rules match was the same one that took place at WrestleMania 40. It was the same match that Cody Rhodes won, becoming the Undisputed WWE Champion in the process. And it was that same match that came with a boatload of twists and surprises.
With SummerSlam just hours away, the WWE Universe can expect some twists and turns in this match as well. So, without further ado, here are six twists that are possible during tonight's Bloodline Rules match between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa.
#6. Hikuleo makes his WWE debut
Solo Sikoa has completely revamped The Bloodline. After kicking out Jimmy Uso, he brought in Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu. The thing is, The Street Champion may not be done recruiting. And, next on his list might just be Hikuleo.
The brother of Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, Hikuleo, has already signed on the dotted line with WWE but is yet to make his debut. So, what better setting for his arrival than The Biggest Party of the Summer?
#5. The Usos reunite to stop The Bloodline
As mentioned earlier, Jimmy Uso is no longer with The Bloodline. Having been kicked out by his brother, Jimmy has no place to call home and nowhere to go in WWE. That being said, there is one person who will welcome him back with open arms: his twin brother, Jey Uso.
Together, The Usos can take on anybody. After all, they're one of the greatest tag teams of all time. Should they reunite, first, on their hitlist will undoubtedly be The Bloodline. And they can check them off by attacking them during the main event of SummerSlam.
#4. Paul Heyman announces the impending arrival of Roman Reigns
Following Jimmy Uso's departure, the next person Solo Sikoa got rid of was The Wiseman, Paul Heyman. Heyman refused to acknowledge him as the Tribal Chief and suffered the consequences. Well, The Wiseman could make a return at SummerSlam during Solo's match with Cody Rhodes.
Eager to see The Street Champion push off his high horse, Heyman could play some mind games. And the best way to do that is to announce the impending arrival of the true Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. That will put Solo on high alert.
#3. Randy Orton and Kevin Owens return to help out Cody Rhodes
Weeks before this match, Cody Rhodes had the assistance of both Randy Orton and Kevin Owens. Both The Viper and The Prizefighter have had a couple of run-ins with this new Bloodline and vowed to help The American Nightmare deal with them. Unfortunately, in the last two weeks, they were systematically taken out by Sikoa and his stablemates.
Luckily for Cody, SummerSlam has a knack for being the perfect PLE for comebacks, and both Orton and Owens can do just that. They can make their much-awaited return when all else seems lost for Rhodes and help him fend off The Bloodline.
#2. The Viper strikes and betrays The American Nightmare
Working off the comeback angle, Randy Orton's return will certainly be a point of interest. He isn't called The Viper for nothing, and over the last few weeks, he has been eyeing Cody Rhodes' title. With that in mind, it wouldn't be all that surprising to see him strike when Cody's back is turned.
After helping Rhodes deal with the other Bloodline members, Orton can throw the ultimate curveball and betray his friend. This would kick off a heated feud between the two superstars as Orton looks to become a world champion once again.
#1. Roman Reigns returns and helps Cody Rhodes win
Perhaps the one twist that everyone is expecting is the return of Roman Reigns. But, rather than returning as the devilish heel he once was, Reigns can come back as a babyface. Having already been announced by Heyman, the Big Dog can make his presence felt by shockingly helping Cody Rhodes.
It certainly would leave Solo Sikoa bewildered, as he wouldn't expect Reigns to be there, let alone help his former rival. It would also be a nice change of pace to see Reigns back as a good guy after such a long time.
That being said, this is nothing more than speculation. Only time will tell if the fans will get to see any of this happen or if WWE has some other surprises in store for the Bloodline Rules Match.
