5 Royal Rumble Entrants Everyone Forgot About
The Royal Rumble is not just the first pay-per-view of the year, but is also one of the most enjoyable one! Imagine watching 30 men trying to eliminate each other by throwing them over the top rope. WWE have even added the women's version too!
Royal Rumble first began in 1988 and has been held every year ever since. It has given us some of the craziest moments in the history of the WWE and has also seen some crowed-popping, legendary returns of superstars too.
When people think of Royal Rumble entrants, it's mainly Kofi Kingston, Shawn Michaels or even Kane that come to mind. However, it has also featured some who have been long forgotten by the WWE universe.
Here's a look at 5 Royal Rumble entrants everyone forgot:
#5 Ricardo Rodriguez
The 2012 Royal Rumble was easily one of the most disappointing ones. It started off with The Miz and Alex Riley in the ring and ended with Sheamus brogue-kicking Chris Jericho off the apron.
The entrants in the match were far too obvious and there were hardly any surprises... well except for Ricardo Rodriguez. With Justin Gabriel, Mick Foley and Cody Rhodes in the ring – and The Miz laid out flat at ringside by the eliminated R-Truth – it was time for entry #8.
Alberto Del Rio's music hit and to everyone's surprise, it wasn't the Mexican superstar, as he was out with a groin injury. It was his ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez instead, driving a broken 1985 Nissan 300ZX.
Ricardo lasted a whole 2 minutes and 19 seconds before getting eliminated by entry #9, Santino Marella. The ring announcer did manage an elimination though, thanks to Mick Foley assisting him in throwing Gabriel out.
