36-year-old star's name banned in WWE - ReportsĀ
If recent reports are anything to go by, a noted WWE star's name may have been banned from being used on the company's programming in any way. The said performer is Drew Gulak, who's currently under investigation by the promotion after being accused of inappropriate behavior by Ronda Rousey.
A few days back, The Baddest Woman on the Planet made a serious accusation against Gulak that shook the wrestling industry. Rousey alleged that Drew Gulak once pulled a string of her sweatpants while they were backstage. Ronda Rousey also mentioned how others around them didn't object to the act.
While Gulak soon addressed the allegations, WWE quickly launched an investigation into the matter, after which the 36-year-old was pulled from TV.
A recent update from Fightful highlights that those within the company have been told not to show Drew Gulak's name on TV in any way. A separate report also noted how there were chances that Gulak might never be back in WWE.
Drew Gulak was written off TV on this week's WWE NXT
Rather than simply having him vanish from TV, NXT played Drew Gulak's removal from its programming into a storyline. No Quarter Catch Crew, a popular stable that included Gulak, came out on this week's episode of NXT without the 36-year-old performer on their side. It was revealed that the faction had paid the D'Angelo Family to take out Drew Gulak, though his name wasn't mentioned.
After Charlie Dempsey refused to pay D'Angelo for getting the job done, citing it was for the well-being of the industry, the two sides came to blows. They were later announced to have a six-man match at next week's NXT: Spring Breakin.'
The Stamford-based promotion made the best of the situation, and it now remains to be seen what the investigation into Rousey's allegations results in.
