37-year-old superstar set to kick off tonight's WWE RAW following huge victory at Backlash - Reports
A 37-year-old WWE Superstar is reportedly set to open RAW, followed by a massive Triple Threat match tonight.
This week's episode of RAW is the first show following WWE Backlash in Puerto Rico. The premium live event saw Bad Bunny defeat Damian Priest in a Street Fight with some help from wrestling veterans Carlito and Savio Vega. Rhea Ripley successfully defended the SmackDown Women's Championship against Zelina Vega, despite the crowd being heavily behind the challenger. Bianca Belair retained the RAW Women's Championship against IYO SKY, and then Cody Rhodes battled Brock Lesnar in the main event.
The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and The Beast began on the RAW after WrestleMania. Brock offered to be The American Nightmare's tag team partner against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa of The Bloodline. However, the match never took place as The Beast brutally attacked Rhodes before the match.
This past weekend at WWE Backlash, Rhodes got a measure of revenge against Lesnar as he countered the Kimura Lock into a cover for the pinfall victory.
According to Xero News, Cody is set to kick off tonight's episode of RAW, with his promo then leading into a Triple Threat match. Rhodes is scheduled to battle Finn Balor and The Miz tonight in a Triple Threat match as a part of the World Heavyweight Championship tournament.
