4-time WWE champion leaves the company; contract has expired - Reports
WWE fans have been waiting with bated breath over the past few weeks to see whether Ricochet will make his return to RAW to exact revenge on Bron Breakker. The second-generation wrestler brutally assaulted The Human Highlight Reel in the parking lot on a recent edition of the red show.
It seems like Ricochet will not be making his comeback to the company's programming anytime soon. Fightful Select is now reporting that the four-time champion's contract has expired.
It was noted that, as of today, Ricochet is a free agent, and sources within WWE and AEW believe that he will be heading to All Elite Wrestling. The global juggernaut moved the 35-year-old's profile to the alumni section on their official website last night before his deal's conclusion.
Ricochet was written off TV following an attack by Bron Breakker. The former NXT Champion slammed his rival on the windscreen of a car last month. This was reportedly done to leave the door open for the former star if he wanted to make his return in the future.
Fightful Select also noted that Ricochet's fiancee, Samantha Irvin, is expected to remain with the Stamford-based company and has a completely separate deal.
During his time in World Wrestling Entertainment, The Human Highlight Reel won four titles, including the NXT North American, United States, Intercontinental, and Speed championships.
Several WWE Superstars have departed the company in recent months
Besides Ricochet, many WWE stars have exited the company in recent months. Popular backstage presenter Kayla Braxton left the global juggernaut this past week following SmackDown, opting against signing a new deal.
Dijak left on June 28, 2024, when his contract expired. On X/Twitter, he revealed that the company didn't offer him a new contract despite calling him up to the main roster as part of this year's Draft.
Reggie, who was known as Scrypts in NXT, also left the company on June 1 after his deal expired. He disclosed that the organization didn't offer him a new contract.
