6-time WWE champion expected to return soon - Reports

WWE is gearing up for the Biggest Party of The Summer in Ohio in just over a week. According to a new report, former multiple-time Women's Tag Team Champion Raquel Rodriguez is expected to return soon.

Earlier this year, Raquel Rodriguez was removed from WWE's active roster as she was battling with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). The former NXT Women's Champion has previously addressed her ongoing condition on social media and promised fans an eventual return.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), the former NXT Women's Champion, three-time WWE Women's Tag Team Champion, and the inaugural NXT Women's Tag Team Champion should be returning to the company soon.

Big Mami Cool has remained quiet during her hiatus and it'll be interesting to see which brand she'll appear on for the promotion.

WWE reportedly wanted Raquel Rodriguez in a major title match

Raquel Rodriguez has often been in and around the championship scene upon receiving her main roster call-up in 2022. The former NXT Women's Champion initially had a series of matches against then-SmackDown Women's Champion Ronda Rousey for the title.

Later, a new regime was ushered in, and the 33-year-old WWE star continued to thrive under Triple H's creative leadership. Big Mami Cool captured the Women's Tag Team Championship in the Stamford-based promotion on three separate occasions with two different (Aliyah x1 and Liv Morgan x2) partners.

Last year, she was in contention for the Women's World Championship on Monday Night RAW. Raquel Rodriguez has often come close to winning the gold. Earlier this year, she competed in the Women's Elimination Chamber match and lost the match to Becky Lynch.

She's been away from weekly television since February 2024. According to Dave Meltzer, the company wanted to bring her back on NXT as Roxanne Perez's mystery opponent for NXT Battleground 2024 in June 2024.

Unfortunately, those plans didn't happen as TNA's Jordynne Grace faced The Prodigy at the event for the title. It'll be interesting to see when Rodriguez returns to the company.
