Backstage reason why WWE isn't going ahead with Rhea Ripley vs Dominik Mysterio intergender match (Exclusive)
Rhea Ripley vs Dominik Mysterio seems to be a hot idea among WWE fans right now. However, there is a major backstage hurdle that is reportedly in place preventing it from happening at the moment.
Considering Rhea Ripley's feud against Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio's impact on it, there seems to be an appetite for a rare Intergender match. Ripley is the most dominant woman in WWE today and has been presented as someone strong enough to take out certain male superstars. On the October 21st episode of RAW, she manhandled Dominik Mysterio before he was saved by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
On WrestleVotes Radio exclusively on Backstage Pass, JoeyVotes and TC said that while there is some interest in an Intergender match between Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio, there are many backstage who aren't into the idea. The reason for this is the general backlash that WWE can receive from portraying a man laying his hands on a woman.
Considering the negative reaction to Carlito's remark on RAW, it was stated that it's easy to see why many would think an Intergender match would be a bad idea.
CM Punk had flattering words for Rhea Ripley on her birthday
CM Punk has seemingly been a very positive figure within WWE and well-received backstage since he returned last year. His veteran presence seems to be embraced by the locker room on both the main roster and NXT.
He has made a lot of new friends who weren't around when he quit in early 2014 -superstars like The Eradicator and The former World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest.
Wishing her on his Instagram, CM Punk said "Happy birthday to this gem" and tagged Rhea Ripley's handle. Punk stated before that the current locker room is a healthy one.
