Backstage update on Natalya's current WWE status - Reports
There has been an interesting update on Natalya's status with WWE. The veteran has not competed in a match since defeating Izzi Dame on the June 4 edition of NXT.
Natalya has not appeared on RAW since her loss to Kiana James in her debut match on the main roster on June 3. Her contract was rumored to expire this summer but the former champion reportedly has reached a new deal with the promotion.
However, Fightful Select has provided an interesting update on the 42-year-old's status with the TKO-led company. The report stated that Natalya was not backstage for this week's edition of RAW, which has been the case since she signed her new contract.
Natalya has been part of the company since 2007. She went on to have a successful career as a WWE Superstar, winning Divas and Women's Championship along with other accolades.
Natalya suggests interesting idea for popular WWE star
WWE veteran Natalya has pitched an interesting idea for Charlotte Flair as a way to present herself in a new light to wrestling fans.
Charlotte Flair is currently out of action with a significant injury. She suffered a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus last December in a singles match against Asuka. Flair was forced to miss WrestleMania XL due to the injury and still has not returned to the ring.
In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter last year, Natalya suggested that Charlotte Flair be portrayed as vulnerable on WWE television. She added that it was the one thing fans have not seen from Flair's character yet.
"I would love to one day see Charlotte in the role of being like super, super vulnerable. When you talk about weaknesses, I don't look at Charlotte and I don't go, 'Wow, she's got a lot of weaknesses.' But, for me, from a fan's standpoint, I think the one thing we haven't seen from Charlotte is just being very, very vulnerable." [From 01:16 – 01:38]
