Backstage update on if there is real-life heat between Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre - Reports
WWE has built Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre into one of the most storied rivalries of the modern era. Things have heated up in recent months, but new information points to how things really are between the two ring veterans.
The Scottish Warrior and The Visionary have shared the WWE ring more than 100 times since 2012. They fought for titles in premium live events main events, traded wins in NXT, engaged in faction warfare as The Shield defeated 3MB, and even teamed up once at Survivor Series 2019. Rollins and McIntyre began feuding for the World Heavyweight Championship earlier this year, which saw the Scotsman briefly win gold from the Iowa native until Damian Priest successfully cashed in Money in the Bank contract.
There has been a recent increase in speculation on real-life heat between Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre. However, the latest word from Fightful Select noted that there was no legitimate beef between the former FCW Florida Heavyweight Champions.
There have been recent verbal and social exchanges between McIntyre, Rollins, and CM Punk, that have gone viral due to their heated nature. There has been no internal talk of real backstage issues stemming from those remarks, no matter how tense they seemed.
Drew McIntyre set to return to WWE RAW
Drew McIntyre is set to return to WWE RAW after his big blow-up at Money in the Bank. Monday's show will air live from Dayton, Ohio.
Money in the Bank saw McIntyre win the briefcase earlier in the night, and then cash in during Seth Rollins' match against World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest to make it a Triple Threat bout. The match ended with the champion retaining due to CM Punk's sneak attack on The Scottish Warrior. An irate Rollins then had words with Punk, even as Corey Graves tried to calm things. McIntyre later snapped ahead of the post-show press conference, laying hands on Adam Pearce.
The RAW General Manager later suspended Drew McIntyre indefinitely, and fined him, but he was announced for next week's RAW. Pearce has since called for a meeting with the heel superstar on Monday. McIntyre did not appear this week to sell the MITB fallout, but there was a heated in-ring promo between Punk and Rollins.
Monday's RAW will also feature Sheamus vs. Bronson Reed, plus an in-ring face-off between Gunther and Priest to build to their SummerSlam match.
