Backstage updates on WWE star getting "arrested" - Reports

WWE began a somewhat controversial storyline a few months back, and some major new developments were observed just this week. Sources have now revealed how multiple angles were connected, and how one segment even included a botch of sorts.

Brooks Jensen has been feuding with WWE officials for sometime now. The second generation star previously announced that he was leaving the company while taking shots at NXT boss Shawn Michaels and others. Security has had to remove the 22-year-old from shows, and he's ranted about wanting to go to TNA. Brooks even appeared at an indie show to try and prove that this was not a storyline.

Jensen began questioning his place in WWE NXT and how officials were booking him following a loss to North American Champion Oba Femi on March 12, which was his last match. This week's NXT featured Femi and Wes Lee trading words in the ring. Fans were distracted as security chased Jensen around the building, trying to keep him from hitting the ring. The planned angle seemingly came off a little too real as it led to a mishap in the ring.

Lee was said to be "thrown for a moment" by Jensen's attempts to rush the ring, according to Fightful Select. Sources report that The Kardiak Kid was not supposed to acknowledge what Jensen was doing.

The Jensen storyline continued later in the show as Eddy Thorpe was interviewed in the parking lot about his plans to win championship gold. NXT sources confirmed that the background events during the Thorpe interview was in fact Jensen being arrested for trying to rush the ring earlier.

There are some within the WWE Universe who still think this could be a real issue with Jensen. However, Fightful added that this remains a storyline, adding that even Brooks has tried to convince members of the media that everything was legitimate.

WWE confirms title match for NXT Heatwave

Next week's WWE NXT episode will feature a Tag Team Turmoil match. The winners will become the new #1 contenders to NXT Tag Team Champions Axiom and Nathan Frazer.

WWE has since confirmed that The Super Sonic Duo will defend the titles against the turmoil bout winners at the upcoming Heatwave Premium Live Event. The teams for next week were not named, but it was noted that several teams have confronted the champions in recent weeks.

The 2024 NXT Heatwave PLE is scheduled for Sunday, July 7 at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Je'Von Evans vs. NXT Champion Trick Williams was also announced, but a major change is rumored to be announced.
