Brutal WWE SummerSlam spot with Logan Paul reportedly not planned

The 37th annual WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event featured a card full of major moments. Logan Paul put the United States Championship on the line for just the 3rd time in nine months. New details are being revealed on Paul's status and health after the match.

The Maverick dropped the United States Championship to LA Knight at The Biggest Event of the Summer. The WWE Universe was standing for much of the 12-minute match, which included interference from Paul's fellow Clevelander MGK, who also accompanied him to the ring.

The Megastar had a second BFT attempt blocked at one point as Paul fought back and went to the top. Knight quickly leaped up to meet Paul and surprise him, then launched him to the mat with a brutal superplex. Jake Paul's brother kicked out just in time as fans popped big for the sequence.

WWE officials planned multiple injury angles at SummerSlam, including the Rhea Ripley shoulder spots and Jacob Fatu selling his leg. However, Fightful Select reports that part of the superplex bump with Paul was not planned.

Backstage sources noted that Paul's nasty landing off the superplex from Knight was not planned. However, the PRIME boss was said to be okay coming out of the bump.

Knight went on to finish The Ultimate Influencer off with a BFT, despite interference from Paul's ringside lackey and MGK, the rapper who handed the YouTube star a set of brass knuckles. Logan's first title reign ended at 273 recognized days.
