CM Punk was backstage at recent wrestling event - Reports
CM Punk has been the talk of the town since he departed from All Elite Wrestling last month. He was reportedly backstage at a recent wrestling event amid his WWE return rumors.
IMPACT Wrestling's Bound For Glory took place in Chicago this past Saturday. The company advertised this event as their rebranding to TNA. The name will reportedly be transitioned from IMPACT Wrestling to TNA at Hard to Kill pay-per-view in January 2024.
According to Haus of Wrestling, the former WWE Superstar attended the IMPACT Wrestling on AXS TV tapings a day after the Bound For Glory pay-per-view. The former WWE Champion interacted with the talent on the roster during his visit.
According to PWInsider, Ace Steel was supposed to make a surprise entry in the Gauntlet match at the event. But considering his close relations with Punk, plans were scrapped to avoid accidentally teasing something that was not on the cards.
The former World Heavyweight Champion was absent at the pay-per-view as he attended Chicago Blackhawk's home opener.
Ryback accused CM Punk of leaking fake rumors to dirt sheets
Ryback has a lot of history with CM Punk, as both wrestlers were part of the WWE roster before the former WWE Champion left the company. In a video he posted on RybackTV, the former Intercontinental Champion talked about the former AEW star.
It is well-known that Ryback isn't a big fan of Punk. In the video, he referred to the latter as Fragile Phil. The Human Wrecking Ball accused the Best in the World of having leaked fake rumors online to the dirt sheets on multiple occasions.
"CM Punk, fragile Phil, is notorious. His entire career, from the time he was one of those little short wearing dumpy bodied Indie wrestlers all the way up until now, he is notorious for leaking faking rumors online to dirt sheets time and time again," he said.
