CM Punk wants to get his WWE deal restructured - Reports
WWE Superstar CM Punk is reportedly looking to get his deal with the Triple H-led promotion restructured. Punk returned to World Wrestling Entertainment at the 2023 Survivor Series: WarGames Premium Live Event.
After performing for All Elite Wrestling for a few years, The Second City Saint finally returned to WWE last year. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned for him as he got injured at Royal Rumble 2024. Although The Best in the World has not competed inside the squared circle since January, he has given fans a highly entertaining feud with Drew McIntyre.
According to a new report by Ibou of WrestlePurists, CM Punk was looking to restructure his current WWE contract. The report suggested that Punk did not want to leave the Triple H-led promotion if things went as planned.
Ibou also mentioned that The Second City Saint allegedly wanted to stay in WWE forever and run NXT in the future.
"I believe it's three. I can tell you right now that he is in the process of trying to get his deal restructured from a money and years standpoint. Punk's legitimate stance right now is, 'If all goes well I will never leave.' That's his legitimate standpoint. He wants to be here. Forever is the actual word he used. Basically, he wants this to work out, he wants to get paid, and then he wants when it's time to slow it down, to slow it down and just run NXT." [H/T: Cultaholic]
CM Punk is cleared to compete at WWE SummerSlam
On the latest edition of Monday Night RAW, CM Punk finally revealed that he is now medically cleared to compete inside the squared circle. He called out Drew McIntyre for a match on the red show. However, McIntyre said he did not want to wrestle Punk in Green Bay as it was a big money match.
Before the two could get hands on each other, RAW general manager Adam Pearce came out to disclose that he booked a bout between the two stars at SummerSlam 2024.
Pearce dropped another bombshell on the red brand by announcing Seth Rollins as the special guest referee for The Second City Saint's match against The Scottish Warrior.
It will be interesting to see who will come out on top between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
