Disappointing update on former WWE star Becky Lynch months after seemingly confirming retirement [Reports]

Becky Lynch's pro wrestling future has been up in the air since parting ways with WWE this summer. An update on her current status has come to the fore and fans won't be happy with it.

The Man was involved in a high-profile program with the current Women's World Champion Liv Morgan before stepping away from the squared circle. She last wrestled on the May 27, 2024, edition of Monday Night RAW, where she unsuccessfully challenged The Miracle Kid inside a Steel Cage.

Dominik Mysterio played a pivotal role in helping Liv Morgan retain her title that night. A few days later, Becky Lynch's WWE contract expired and she left amicably.

Big Time Becks has since remained tight-lipped about her future and is enjoying time with her family. Interestingly, she shared a cryptic Instagram post a few months ago, which led everyone to think she had quietly retired.

Earlier today, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about an update on Becky Lynch. The wrestling journalist said WWE had been respectful of her space and she would be welcomed with open arms when the time was right.

This all but confirms that the 37-year-old stalwart won't be rejoining the Stamford-based promotion anytime soon. However, a potential return at the 2025 Women's Royal Rumble Match cannot be ruled out.

Potential backstage reason why Becky Lynch left WWE

Speaking on a recent edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Backstage Pass, former WWE personality Jonathan Coachman speculated that The Man had a financial disagreement with the management, which led to her departure.

Coachman believes Lynch would be on WWE TV right now if the company had offered her a more lucrative deal.

"Roman's at that 15-20 million mark, and TKO doesn’t want to pay anybody. […] Then you got Cody Rhodes, who’s making 10-15 reportedly. Then Seth, who is her [Becky Lynch] better half, he’s probably in that three to seven million range. So reportedly, she was asking for over two million a year. […] They didn’t do it..[...] If they paid her, she’d be on the show. And they’re desperate for females right now," he said.

Meanwhile, Morgan continues to claim she has "single-handedly" retired Lynch. Will the Irish woman return to reignite a feud with The Judgment Day member? Only time will tell.
