Disappointing update on Jey Uso after winning WWE Intercontinental Championship [Reports]
Jey Uso realized his dream on WWE RAW last night when he captured the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his career. However, an update on his title run has come to the fore and it's not looking good.
The YEET master dethroned Bron Breakker in a barn burner main event on Monday Night RAW this week. This ended Breakker's reign at just 51 days, which saw him defend his title only once on TV against Sami Zayn, whom he first won the gold from at SummerSlam.
Meanwhile, Jey Uso won the Intercontinental Championship in his sixth attempt. As the former Bloodline member prepares to embark on a new run, Xero News' latest tweet casts doubt over his reign as the Intercontinental Champion.
Earlier today, Xero News noted that Jey Uso won't have a long run with the title, suggesting he could lose his gold soon.
Whether Bron Breakker will be the one to reclaim the title remains to be seen. A rematch cannot be completely ruled out, but it is unlikely that WWE would add another match to Bad Blood on October 5. The card for the upcoming premium live event is already stacked.
Regardless, the idea of Jey Uso dropping his Intercontinental Title soon may have something to do with the ongoing Bloodline civil war. Many fans are wondering when WWE will intertwine "Main Event" Jey back into the family storyline.
Rikishi reacts to Jey Uso's WWE Intercontinental Championship triumph
Rikishi has been critical of his son's booking for a long time and has lashed out at the creative from time to time.
The Samoan Stinker, however, couldn't control his emotions when Jey dethroned Breakker on RAW.
Rikishi took to his official X/Twitter handle to send a message to Rhea Ripley, asking Mami to celebrate the moment:
"@RheaRipley_WWE It’s time to celebrate mami. AND YOUR NEW IC CHAMPION JEY MAIN EVENT USO Everyone Throw your hands in the air and say loud and proud #JeyWins #YEET @WWE," wrote Rikishi.
Ripley responded to the WWE Hall of Famer by inviting him to "Waffle House" to celebrate Jey's title win.
It will be interesting to see what Triple H has in store for The YEET Master as Bad Blood fast approaches.
