Disappointing update on Natalya's current WWE status - reports

Natalya has been part of WWE for almost two decades. The 42-year-old star signed for the promotion in 2007 and has been able to win several championships and smash many Guinness World records in that time.

In recent months, Natalya has been working in NXT and her last match was in June when she wrestled Izzi Dame. Nattie's future has since been a hot topic of conversation for WWE fans, with many suggesting that she could be looking to head over to AEW to be part of the Owen Hart Cup.

That being said, Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer noted earlier today that there was "nothing new" to report surrounding her deal which expires in the summer. Considering we are already well into the summer, it means that her contract could expire in the coming days and Natalya is still no closer to signing a new deal.

Natalya hasn't held a championship in almost three years with her last title reign coming in 2021 as Women's Tag Team Champion alongside Tamina. It has been almost seven years since she won a singles title, with her last coming in 2017 when she was SmackDown Women's Champion.

Will Natalya sign a new contract with WWE?

Natalya has been absent from RAW for several weeks and recent reports even suggested that she hadn't been backstage as part of recent shows as her contract negotiations appeared to be ongoing.

It's unclear what Natalya has left to accomplish in the wrestling business since she now holds veteran status and is seen as one of the main locker room leaders in the Stamford-based promotion.

Nattie has also been working in NXT to help the talent coming through the company, but she could want much more moving forward. This could be the reason for the delay in her signing a new deal. As of writing, it is unclear when exactly the veteran's contract with WWE expires.
