Former WWE star arrested - Reports
A former WWE Superstar was reportedly arrested in Kansas City, Missouri on June 15 for allegedly stabbing a man during a fight. The ex-star claimed that it was self-defense although the victim told authorities that he wasn't the aggressor in the situation.
According to TMZ Sports, Charles Scaggs, famously known as 2 Cold Scorpio and Flash Funk in wrestling, was reportedly arrested by police on June 15. He was charged with two felonies – one count of assault in the first degree and one count of armed criminal action.
Scaggs was reportedly able to pay off his bond and pleaded not guilty to both charges. There would be a case hearing next month although no date was reported.
Charles Scaggs, who is now 58 years of age, has not retired from professional wrestling and has been working on the independent circuit over the years. He most recently wrestled at Game Changer Wrestling, beating Joey Janela at GCW How High in Los Angeles back on April 20.
In addition to wrestling, Scaggs also worked as security at Love's Travel Stop in Kansas City, Missouri. He confronted a man at around 3:40 in the morning for smoking inside the shop. It led to more confrontation outside and that's when the stabbing seemingly began.
Scaggs allegedly took out his knife when the victim tried to grapple the former WWE star, who has claimed self-defense. However, the victim was stabbed multiple times in his head, chest, abdomen, and legs. Paramedics were able to bring the victim to a hospital, where his life was saved.
Former WWE champion once called 2 Cold Scorpio the most underrated wrestler ever
In an interview on The Hollywood Raw Podcast with Dax Holt and Adam Glyn back in February 2024, former WWE and current AEW star Chris Jericho was asked about who is the most underrated wrestler of all time. The former AEW World Champion named 2 Cold Scorpio as the most underrated wrestler.
"Let's see. Who's the most underrated wrestler? Oh man, those are hard. What pops into your head, it's hard. There's a guy called 2 Cold Scorpio who was really good that I don't think gets the credit for how good he is. 2 Cold Scorpio was known for his high-flying moves and is still remembered by fans for his supreme athleticism. He was able to showcase his talent in WWE, ECW, and WCW in the 1990s.
