Gunther's next challenger for WWE World Heavyweight Championship spoiled [Reports]
Gunther had a night to forget at the WWE Crown Jewel Premium Live Event. The American Nightmare outsmarted The Ring General to capture the inaugural Crown Jewel Championship.
With the Saudi Arabia show in the history books, it's now time for him to shift his focus back to elevating the prestige of the World Heavyweight Championship on Monday Night RAW.
A recent report appears to have spoiled the next challenger for The Ring General. WWE recently announced a Fatal Four-Way match featuring Seth "Freakin" Rollins, Sheamus, Dominik Mysterio, and Damian Priest to determine the number one contender for Gunther's title.
The fallout episode of RAW after Crown Jewel (November 4, 2024) will be taped from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio, The Archer of Infamy will walk out victorious in this high-stakes matchup.
“I was told that Priest will most likely face Gunther at the Saturday Night Main Event show,” he said.
If that happens, Gunther will face Damian Priest in a rematch from SummerSlam. The two men had a hard-hitting contest, which saw Finn Balor cost his former friend the World Heavyweight Championship.
The two men had a backstage confrontation on RAW a few weeks ago, where Priest issued a warning to the Imperium leader.
The 42-year-old WWE Superstar recently destroyed Dominik Mysterio and the rest of the Judgment Day members after Dom pulled off an upset victory over him.
WWE legend is coming for Gunther in 2025
It looks like The Ring General has got a lot on his plate right now. WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg appeared on ESPN's SEC Nation and announced that he would have his long-awaited retirement match in 2025.
Da Man also dropped a teaser about his potential final opponent - Gunther, who insulted the 57-year-old WCW icon and his family at Bad Blood.
"Here's the deal and here's the news of the day is per three executives, Nick Khan, Chris Legentil, and Paul Levesque, in 2025, Goldberg's having his retirement match. So I think we know who the subject or the victim, probably the frontrunner we know who it is."
Goldberg isn't the only legend hanging up his boots next year. John Cena is gearing up for his retirement tour, which likely begins on the RAW's debut on Netflix next year.
Will the two stalwarts cross paths before riding off into the sunset? Only time will tell.
