Rumor killer on Randy Orton’s potential move over to WWE SmackDown
Since the alarming injury he sustained in May 2022, viewers have been speculating and hoping to see WWE star Randy Orton return to television.
While the beloved veteran was last seen on SmackDown, he was still, at the time, a member of the RAW roster. Following recent comments made by fans online about The Viper potentially being traded to the blue brand for Jey Uso, those rumors are now seemingly put to rest.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful pointed out a logical point regarding the speculations. This was on account of Orton's previous stomping grounds being on the red brand, covered with the fact that he wasn't drafted during the process earlier this year.
"Orton would not need to be traded. He was never drafted," Sean Ross Sapp wrote on Twitter/X.
Randy Orton has not won a world championship since 2020 and a title in general since 2022. His wife recently dropped a picture with him on Instagram.
WWE legend had high praise directed towards a young Randy Orton
Road Dogg recently disclosed on his podcast Oh...You Didn't Know about his first meeting with Randy Orton.
According to the Hall of Famer, The Viper worked with everything he got and then some. Apparently, he was the best show-business athlete ever to grace our screens.
"I told Randy Orton right to his face [the] first time I ever met him, 'You're the best I've ever seen at this.' What I was talking about was TV wrestling, working the cameras, working his facials, working his entrance. Everything is contemplated and executed with television perfection in mind, and very rarely does he come up short," said Road Dogg.
While Orton joined WWE as a very young man, today, he has grown up to become a veteran and one of the top superstars in the wrestling industry.
Prior to his injury last year, he stated that the rest of his WWE career would go on as usual and that he would be remembered for longevity.
