Rumor killer on WWE WrestleMania in 2026 - Report
WWE WrestleMania is the Super Bowl of sports entertainment, and this year's edition was the highest-grossing in the event's rich history. It was also the 40th anniversary, and Philadelphia had the privilege of hosting it.
The next spectacle is scheduled to emanate from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas over Easter weekend in April 2025.
There were rumblings about Philadelphia once again hosting the Showcase of Immortals in 2026, especially after a post online from the Pennsylvania Governor, Josh Shapiro. However, the post has since been deleted. Per Fightful Select, sources within WWE were surprised to see this post. While they enjoyed their time in Philly, it is too soon to announce anything for 2026.
Nevertheless, WWE is locking in a number of future dates and locations as they are a hot live attendance product at the moment. For example, Indianapolis will host several WWE shows between 2025 to 2032, including major events such as Royal Rumble 2025, a future WrestleMania and SummerSlam.
Several top matches rumored to take place at WWE WrestleMania 41
Perhaps the biggest match the company has in its back pocket today is Roman Reigns vs. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. It was originally supposed to happen at WrestleMania 39, and then again this year, according to The Final Boss himself.
After missing out on two editions of the event, it looks like the company's creative team may wait for yet another year. After WrestleMania XL, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was interrupted during an in-ring promo by The Final Boss, who confirmed he would return to avenge The American Nightmare's triumph over The Bloodline.
The bout is reportedly going to take place in Las Vegas next year.
Another high-profile contest which unfortunately had to be postponed this year owing to CM Punk's injury was a WrestleMania showdown between him and Seth Rollins, who has repeatedly badmouthed the Chicago native. This deeply personal rivalry, which was reignited this summer, is reportedly planned for WrestleMania 41.
As for World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, who retained his title against Randy Orton at Bash in Berlin Saturday night, he is seemingly set to remain champion until the Show of Shows in 2025.
WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker predicted CM Punk as an ideal opponent for The Ring General at the event. However, this clashes with Punk's rumored bout with Rollins, which has already been presented as a possibility on the flagship show.
Bear in mind that all of this is mere speculation and that WrestleMania 41 is still eight months away. A lot of things can change between now and then, with several major premium live events ahead of the grand stage in April 2025.
