Legendary tag team's reunion planned for special event outside WWE
A major tag team is set to reunite for a special event. One-half of this team recently competed in WWE NXT.
The Dudley Boys are regarded as one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history. The duo, consisting of Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley, dominated during the early 2000s and was instrumental in a memorable era for WWE's tag team division.
Even after their WWE release, the Dudley Boys have gone on to work in the Indies and have competed for several promotions over the years. They are still active and compete often in the ring. Bubba even recently competed at NXT 2300 in Philadelphia. D-Von also made an appearance on this show. Now, they are set to make another appearance for a special event.
PWInsider is reporting that The Dudley Boys, along with Spike Dudley, will reunite at the Milwaukee Admirals hockey team's salute to wrestling on January 3, 2025.
WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley wants his sons to join NXT
D-Von Dudley's sons Terrell and Terrence Hughes, known as TNT, have been turning heads in the Indies with their performances. They even previously competed in AEW but weren't featured on TV. The duo even had a match for ROH last year, but nothing came of that. However, they have been competing for other promotions.
During a recent interview with Women's Wrestling Talk, D-Von Dudley said he was not happy with his sons' stint in AEW. He said that the company didn't use them well, just like they've done with other talent. He also said that he wanted TNT to leave AEW and join NXT, which is what they're trying to accomplish.
“I wanted them to get out, I wanted them to go to NXT and try to get their feet wet there. That’s what we’re doing right now with them. It’s one of those things where I was happy they were able to leave that part of their life and their wrestling career and go start a new chapter.” [H/T Ringside News]
It will be interesting to see whether Terrell and Terrence Hughes will join NXT in the future.
