Major Cody Rhodes segment featuring unexpected big name reportedly set for WWE RAW
While Cody Rhodes has already racked up some significant wins so far in WWE, it seems that the American Nightmare will be put over once more before he faces Brock Lesnar at Night of Champions.
The past few weeks have seen Cody cut promo after promo on Brock Lesnar as they head into their match this Saturday. While the fans are entirely behind Rhodes, it seems that WWE will not be compromising when it comes to their top babyface. WWE's hottest feud will get even more exciting if the reports heading into tonight's show are accurate.
According to a recent report by BWE [via Ringside News], WWE RAW will have a strong closing segment tonight featuring Cody Rhodes, who an undisclosed major name in the company will put over:
"Just got notified of a big backstage segment closing the night. Big name putting over Cody before NOC.", tweeted BWE
Cody Rhodes has seemingly bounced back from his WrestleMania loss
Heading into the Grandest Stage of them All, Cody Rhodes was the favorite in many people's books to walk out with the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Hence, the loss to Roman Reigns in the main event shocked fans all across the globe.
Nonetheless, it wasn't a major setback for Rhodes as the American Nightmare was quickly launched into another big feud. On the RAW after WrestleMania, Rhodes was attacked by his tag team partner for the night, Brock Lesnar. A match was set for BackLash where, after a grueling contest, Cody managed to pick up the win by reversing the Kimura Lock into a pin.
This did not sit well with Lesnar, who attacked Rhodes the following night and demanded a rematch. Not being able to back down from a fight, Cody promptly accepted the challenge, making Rhodes vs. Lesnar 2 official for Night of Champions.
With the Night of Champions just around the corner, WWE seems to be pulling all the stops for their show in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The recent report suggests that WWE has something big planned for Cody Rhodes tonight. This begs the question of who is the undisclosed 'big name' set to put over the American Nightmare.
