Major details revealed surrounding Sheamus’ new WWE deal - Reports
WWE Superstar Sheamus inked a new deal with the Stamford-based company earlier this week. A recent report revealed more details regarding the veteran performer's contract extension, including the specific length of the newly signed contract.
The Celtic Warrior returned from injury after nearly eight months earlier this year in April. He is currently feuding with his former stablemate, Pete Dunne, on Monday Night RAW. The latter defeated the former WWE Champion in a singles match on the latest episode of the red brand.
After a poor start, the week got better for Sheamus as he re-signed with WWE. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, veteran wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer reported that the 46-year-old has signed a new five-year deal with the wrestling promotion.
WWE Hall of Famer opens up about major issue regarding Sheamus' return from injury
Sheamus locked horns with The Viking Raiders' Ivar in a singles match on the April 15, edition of Monday Night RAW, marking his return from injury. Former RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff shared his honest opinion regarding the veteran performer's return from injury.
On an episode of 83 Weeks, Bischoff claimed that the former World Heavyweight Champion's hiatus from WWE made his return feel fresh. The 69-year-old added it could have been better had the three-time United States Champion been a part of the build to WrestleMania XL. He further pointed out that The Irishman must be looking forward to making an impact on next year's Show of Shows.
"He has been off long enough that he is like the 'absence makes the heart grow fonder factor' has kicked in; it feels fresh. Yeah, would it have been nice if Sheamus had a story starting six months or a year ago, or perhaps it would have built towards WrestleMania? Sure, that would have been nice. But if I'm Sheamus right now, I'm looking at what happens to me over the next 12 months. What am I going to be doing looking forward to the next WrestleMania because he has got a clear runway, and he's got some support behind him," he said. [From 36:06 to 36:35]
