Major injury update on Damian Priest following WWE Clash at the Castle - Reports
WWE Clash at the Castle: Scotland was headlined by Damian Priest retaining the World Heavyweight Championship. An update on Priest's condition has just leaked from backstage following a major injury concern.
The Archer of Infamy defeated homegrown WWE Superstar, Drew McIntyre in a grueling main event match on Saturday at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. The Scottish Psychopath had the support of thousands of Glaswegians, but in the end CM Punk made a surprise return to prevent the title change.
Priest and McIntyre battled in and out of the ring for 20 minutes, and at one point Priest was left hanging upside down after getting caught up between the top and middle ropes. Between the mishap and the physicality of the match, there has been concern for both competitors.
Priest returned backstage after the match and received a lot of praise for his performance. Regarding the injury concern, Fightful Select reported that initial word from within WWE sources indicates that The Judgment Day member was fine, and was effectively selling during the battle with McIntyre.
Sources also confirmed to Lucha Libre Online that Priest walked out of the OVO Hydro injury-free. It was noted that despite concern, the belief is that the World Heavyweight Champion did not suffer a tear or any other serious injury during the ring ropes incident.
Priest and Punk had a brief face-off after the Clash at the Castle main event. However, the champion later made a surprising claim about the finish of the match.
Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre on WWE RAW?
The fallout from Clash at the Castle: Scotland will continue on Monday's RAW from the AmericanBank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Officials have announced that the first Money In the Bank qualifiers will take place on RAW. Dragon Lee vs. Carlito and Karrion Kross vs. Xavier Woods has also been confirmed for the show. A major segment with Uncle Howdy is rumored, but not confirmed at this point.
The arena currently has Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre advertised to appear, but that could be a dated listing. CM Punk has already confirmed that he will not be on RAW, but could be on Friday's SmackDown in Chicago.
The WWE website only has Jey Uso advertised for RAW. The other superstars listed by WWE are Uso, Sami Zayn, Awesome Truth, Liv Morgan, Lyra Valkyria, Gunther, and the rest of The Judgment Day.
