Major names in town ahead of WWE SmackDown; potential debut confirmed - Reports
Major stars have reportedly been spotted near the location of tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown. This week's edition of the blue brand will air live from the Colonial Life Arena in South Carolina as the promotion is on the road to Crown Jewel on November 2.
According to a new report from PW Insider, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley (Motor City Machine Guns) were spotted at an airport in Charlotte, North Carolina, last night. The airport is only hours away from the location of tonight's SmackDown in Columbia, South Carolina.
Sabin and Shelley have had an impressive career so far, and have performed for major companies around the world. The duo made a name for themselves in TNA Wrestling, but their contracts expired earlier this year. It was recently reported that a vignette shown on WWE television was featured to tease the arrival of Motor City Machine Guns.
Former WWE writer highlights major problem with recent vignettes on SmackDown
Wrestling legend Vince Russo recently discussed the vignette on SmackDown that potentially teased the debut of the Motor City Machine Guns in the company.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW show, Russo shared his issue with the vignettes for Motor City Machine Guns and Dragon Lee on WWE television. The veteran suggested that the vignettes did not do enough to get fans excited about seeing the tag team and Dragon Lee in the future.
He claimed that the vignettes came off as generic and wondered why the promotion was wasting money producing them.
"Not only that but when you see the Motor City Machine Guns vignette when you see the Dragon Lee vignettes. Do these vignettes make you want to see these people? They are generic wrestling vignettes. Why are you? Compare the Motor City Machine Gun vignettes to Val Venis. Why are you wasting that type of money when there is nothing in those vignettes wanting to make me see these people?" The former champions have accomplished a lot in the wrestling business since 2006. It will be fascinating to see what WWE has planned for the popular duo in the weeks ahead.
