Major report on Roman Reigns' potential WWE return
The WWE Universe has been patiently waiting for the return of Roman Reigns. The Tribal Chief has been away since losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL, and The Bloodline has been surrounded in turmoil ever since. Now, the latest reports regarding the return of the top star has come to the fore.
The Head of The Table has been fairly quiet while Solo Sikoa continues his dominant rise to the top, with Bloodline tension boiling over and questions surrounding who will be the real Tribal Chief when Reigns returns. A Reigns vs. Sikoa match will likely have to wait as Solo challenges Rhodes first, but the latest word from backstage is that Roman is headed back for the biggest event of the summer.
A new report from PWInsider notes that Reigns is expected back in time for the SummerSlam PLE. Multiple sources now expect Roman to be at SummerSlam. However, that does not necessarily mean he will wrestle a match that night.
WWE officials have been working on plans for the return of the 39-year-old, and at one point they were looking to bring Reigns back to TV two to three weeks before SummerSlam. We are currently 22 days away from the premium live event.
Sikoa vs. Rhodes has been rumored for the SummerSlam main event and could be confirmed soon. The 37th annual SummerSlam PLE is scheduled for Saturday, August 3 from Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. The go-home SmackDown will take place the night before from Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
