Major stars could make WWE debut at upcoming show - Reports
WWE continues to scout and acquire key roster additions in its new era. Several notable stars are believed to be on the way to the company, or rumored to be signing, including The Lucha Brothers, Hikuleo, and Daniel Garcia. A new report has shed light on big names expected to debut for the TKO-led company soon, and they could be arriving with new looks.
The Motor City Machine Guns are expected to debut for World Wrestling Entertainment soon. The rumors about Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley signing with WWE go back to March when they left TNA Wrestling and became free agents once again. After talks with AEW fell through, the Detroit natives met with a Stamford-based company to talk potential terms, and that reportedly led to a "great" offer, described as beneficial to the veteran tag team for the long term. It was rumored in early September that the former TNA World Champions could debut for NXT during one of the first two episodes of the white-and-gold brand on CW Network.
The Future and The Next could be debuting for WWE tonight. A new report from PWInsider Elite notes how there's strong belief across the business that The Motor City Machine Guns will be on tonight's live NXT episode from Chicago, which will officially kick off the CW Network era for the brand.
It wasn't clear if The Guns will appear live for their debuts, but they could be featured in some sort of vignette or promo to set up another appearance. There's also talk of Sabin and Shelley debuting with a new look.
Sources indicate that a significant change in Sabin and Shelley's presentation could be in the works, to mark a fresh slate with the biggest wrestling company in the world. Officials reportedly want MCMG to be the new faces of the NXT tag team division.
The 11-time tag team champions are said to be thrilled to work with the NXT roster. It's believed that their deals will allow the 41-year-old Shelley and the 42-year-old Sabin to work as Performance Center Coaches once they decide to retire from in-ring competition.
Chris Sabin has never worked for WWE, but Alex Shelley made his debut as a singles talent in June 2005, losing to Simon Dean on Heat. Shelley returned in January 2020 to work three NXT shows with Kushida as The Time Splitters. They defeated The Forgotten Sons at two live events, then lost to The Grizzled Young Veterans on TV.
