Major update on Becky Lynch's WWE future following title loss - Reports

Becky Lynch is one of the most popular WWE Superstars on the roster, but she could be a free agent before the week is over. New details on Lynch's contract situation have just leaked from backstage ahead of a major match for the wrestling veteran.

The Man confirmed just days before WrestleMania XL that her WWE contract had not been renewed, claiming that no one had even approached her about a new deal and making very telling remarks on her future with the company. It was reported that Lynch's contract was set to expire in June, and the same went for her husband, Seth Rollins.

The 22-year veteran dropped the Women's World Championship to Liv Morgan at King and Queen of the Ring PLE on Saturday but will get a chance to regain the gold on tonight's RAW in a Steel Cage match, due to a rematch stipulation in her contract.

As of this morning, WWE and the former Big Time Becks had not agreed on terms for a new contract, according to reports from Fightful Select. There's a belief among many in the business that Lynch could be offered the highest financial package for any female competitor in pro wrestling history.

Lynch's current WWE contract is set to expire on Saturday, June 1, and the 37-year-old becomes a free agent that day unless she signs on the dotted line before that.

The two parties have been in contact, but it's not clear if a new deal is imminent or has been agreed upon already, but it has definitely not been signed. It remains to be seen if Lynch's contract situation will factor into the booking of tonight's title match on RAW.

Becky Lynch lost the WWE Women's World Championship in controversial fashion

The main card of WWE's inaugural King and Queen of the Ring PLE opened up with Liv Morgan capturing the Women's World Championship from Becky Lynch.

The 16-minute title match saw Dominik Mysterio interfere to enable Morgan to become champion, which is also a progression of their recent storyline. The Man spoke with Byron Saxton later in the show and spoke of a rematch clause in her contract.

Lynch's seventh world title reign lasted just 32 days. She captured the vacant Women's World Championship on April 22 in a 14-women Battle Royal on RAW, after Rhea Ripley had been forced to vacate the title due to a long-term injury.
