Major update on Giulia's WWE future - Reports
Giulia’s name is being thrown around on WWE TV amid reports of her potential arrival to the Stamford-based promotion. A recent report has shed some light on what the future could hold for the 30-year-old star.
Giulia could become the next big thing in the Stamford-based promotion if the company gets her the top spot. She is regarded as a top name in the industry. The former NJPW Strong Women's Champion made a surprise appearance in the crowd at NXT Stand & Deliver, and things have not been the same ever since.
Fans expect to see the 30-year-old star in WWE soon where she could begin her journey on the NXT brand. Roxanne Perez recently name-dropped Giulia after a successful title defense, leaving the doors open to her potential in-ring debut.
At the recent Marigold event held at Korakuen Hall, Giulia revealed that she will be competing in her final match in Japan on August 19, 2024. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that she could be allowed to go back to Japan for some big shows by WWE, similar to the special permission granted to IYO SKY.
"My impression is they’ll allow her to go back for big shows like IYO SKY did on the last Sumo Hall show. Marigold is looking at the idea of four big shows a year, so I think that maybe WWE would allow her to go back for two, three, four shows a year, something like that. That’s a part of their working together relationship type of thing," Dave Meltzer said.
The Stamford-based company will be hosting the NXT No Mercy event in early September. The show could likely lead to Giulia’s arrival on the white and gold brand, where she could challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women's Championship right away.
What did Roxanne Perez say about Giulia on WWE NXT?
Thea Hail challenged Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship earlier this week at NXT The Great American Bash. Hail took Perez to the limits but failed to dethrone her as the champion.
While speaking backstage after her win, The Prodigy said that no one on the roster or around the world can match her in the ring. She then name-dropped Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia, who is yet to make her WWE debut.
"Like, I'll give Thea her respect 'cause she almost had me there, but realistically, everybody needs to stop worrying about everybody else around the world. Not Thea, not Giulia, not Stephanie (Vaquer). NXT is the best women's division in the world, and this is on my shoulder, which means I am the best woman in the world. That's it. Good night!" Roxanne Perez said.
It will be interesting to see whether Perez will have to pay the price for name-dropping the 30-year-old star.
