Major update on Kevin Owens' future ahead of WWE SmackDown - Reports
Kevin Owens has been with WWE for a little over a decade, and a new report revealed The Prizefighter's future with the Stamford-based promotion. Earlier this year, it was reported Kevin Owens' contract is set to end by 2024.
This led to speculation on The Prizefighter's potential move to All Elite Wrestling in the coming year. However, the former Universal Champion hasn't addressed it nor showcased any signs of departure.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), the insider claimed multiple people in wrestling have told him Owens had re-signed with the company back during Bash in Berlin. However, the insider hasn't been able to confirm those rumors from his sources.
Moreover, he added the 40-year-old star wants to keep the decision secretive as of now and hasn't revealed anything about his contract situation. However, The Prizefighter's future is likely with WWE, but it'll be interesting to see what transpires in the coming months.
Kevin Owens attacked Randy Orton on WWE SmackDown
Earlier this year, Kevin Owens started to team up with Randy Orton heading into WrestleMania XL. While the two were in a Triple Threat match against Logan Paul, the two have often been on the same page when it comes to The Bloodline on WWE SmackDown.
After months of teaming up and having each other's backs, it all changed when Cody Rhodes picked Roman Reigns over R-KO. The move didn't sit well with The Prizefighter, and tension grew between the two. Later, Owens attacked Rhodes after the event and left.
On the latest edition of WWE SmackDown, Kevin Owens appeared and tried to cut a promo. During this, he was accidentally elbowed by Randy Orton, who was trying to defuse the situation. Later, Owens brutally assaulted Orton and sent him a message for siding with The American Nightmare.
Later, he uploaded a video on X and tried to explain his actions from the show. It'll be interesting to see how the story plays out as Owens believes he's in the right and Rhodes turned on him for Roman Reigns and The Bloodline.
