Major WWE name reportedly in town for Saturday Night’s Main Event; potential spoiler
WWE is set to present the return of Saturday Night's Main Event in just a few hours. A new champion will be crowned tonight in a history-making match, while other champions will defend, and grudges will be settled. Sources have just revealed a major potential spoiler for one of tonight's matches.
Tonight's Saturday Night's Main Event is a loaded show with the crowning of the inaugural Women's United States Champion, plus title defenses by the Undisputed Champion, the World Heavyweight Champion, and the Women's World Champion. The only non-title match will see Drew McIntyre battle Sami Zayn. Another key happening confirmed for tonight is Jesse Ventura's return to commentary.
The Body may have another big guest joining him at the WWE SNME commentary desk tonight. A new report from PWInsider notes that CM Punk has been spotted in Uniondale, NY, ahead of tonight's two-hour special show.
WWE has not confirmed Punk for SNME as of this writing, but he teased a guest commentary gig on Friday night while announcing the CFFC MMA event in Atlantic City, NJ. The arena hosting tonight's NBC special show is just around three hours from Atlantic City, making it possible for Punk to appear. The PWInsider report noted that The Second City Saint will be in attendance at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum tonight.
The former AEW star is rumored to wrestle Seth Rollins at the WWE RAW Netflix premiere on January 6. Punk's last singles match was a Hell in a Cell win over McIntyre at Bad Blood in early October, but he worked Survivor Series last month to help the OG Bloodline defeat The Bloodline in a WarGames match.
