Major WWE show reportedly set to return for the first time in over sixteen years

WWE is gearing up to end this year with a bang. There are still a few interesting PLEs left in the bag. According to a new report, Saturday Night's Main Event is set to make a return under Triple H's regime before the end of the year.

In 1985, Saturday Night's Main Event made its debut for the company and became a regular fixture under Vince McMahon's regime, at the time. The show eventually featured around 30-minute episodes, and WWE hasn't revived the popular show, until now.

According to a new report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), Saturday Night's Main Event is set to return and the company will soon announce its revival as the new deal with the USA Network is set to feature four specials per year on NBC.

After its second revival in the company, the show's last edition happened in 2008. WWE's Main Event has taken inspiration from the prime-time show, but it's not the same as Saturday Night's Main Event.

WWE has already introduced a new show and titles in 2024

Earlier this year, Triple H's regime introduced new changes to the roster heading into WrestleMania XL. Apart from new deals for television, a new show was also announced by the company before the biggest WrestleMania of all time.

The management announced the introduction of Speed in collaboration with X (formerly Twitter). While Speed does not have the traditional format, the show did introduce a new title in the company.

Ricochet became the inaugural Speed Champion before WrestleMania XL. Unfortunately, the star lost the title to Andrade as he was already on his way out of the company.

Earlier this week, a Speed Women's Championship tournament was kicked off as IYO SKY defeated Lyra Valkyria and advanced to the next round. A new Speed Women's Champion will crowned in the coming weeks, which will provide new opportunities to the female stars in the locker room.
