Major WWE star backstage at RAW; potential replacement for Samantha Irvin already decided - Reports
A popular star has been spotted backstage at tonight's episode of WWE RAW. This week's episode of the red brand will air live from Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia as the promotion continues to build toward Crown Jewel.
According to a new report by PWInsider, former WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia has been spotted backstage at tonight's episode of RAW. Popular ring announcer Samantha Irvin announced her departure from the promotion earlier today.
It has been reported that many were surprised backstage by the news of Irvin's departure. Garcia served as the company's ring announcer for several years and appeared on the May 13 edition of RAW alongside Irvin.
Samantha Irvin joined WWE in 2021 and became very popular with wrestling fans. She is in a real-life relationship with Ricochet, who departed the company earlier this year and has since signed with All Elite Wrestling.
Lilian Garcia comments on announcing with Samantha Irvin on WWE RAW
Wrestling veteran Lilian Garcia recently shared her thoughts on being asked to serve as the ring announcer on RAW earlier this year.
Speaking with Steve Fall of Ten Count Media, Garcia discussed a short conversation she had with Triple H before her appearance on RAW. She noted that she was only there to visit a friend, but Triple H offered her the chance to announce with Irvin, and she couldn't pass up the opportunity.
"I saw that they were in Greenville and I'm like, 'Wow, I would love to see them. I haven't seen them in forever.' I was backstage and then Triple H was like, 'Hey, do you want to be on the show tonight?' I'm like, 'Sure, what do you want me to do?' He goes, 'I think I want you to co-announce with Samantha and announce together.' And I'm like, 'That would be awesome,'" Garcia said. [From 01:53 to 02:17]

Samantha Irvin received many messages of support from her peers after she announced her departure from the company. It will be interesting to see if Garcia will be named as Irvin's replacement or if the promotion has another candidate in mind.
