Major WWE star's future after Bash In Berlin disclosed - Reports

WWE is gearing up for the inaugural Bash In Berlin Premium Live Event, which is set to feature several top superstars in key matches. Sources have just revealed a breaking news update on one of the biggest names in the company ahead of a title match in Berlin, which came amid rumors of a potential jump to AEW.

Randy Orton is one of World Wrestling Entertainment's longest-tenured stars. The third-generation superstar signed a new five-year contract back in 2019, which would have kept him locked in until later this year. However, the 44-year-old missed a significant amount of time due to injuries, and word had been that Orton's contract situation was not as clear cut as it might seem.

The Viper has now signed a new WWE contract, according to multiple sources via Fightful Select. While Orton's contract situation had been up in the air, the current internal word is that he has inked a fresh five-year deal that will keep him with the Stamford-based company until late 2029.

When asked why the company would agree to a new deal instead of extending the previous contract due to injury time, a WWE source higher-up said they were "not confirming that he did sign a new deal, but the guaranteed money associated with contracts now is a drastic shift from what it was in 2019. There have been changes to our live event schedule, touring, international dates, media obligations, merchandise, and social media that would be much more fair to just reach a new deal in many situations."

The Apex Predator re-signs with WWE after publicly flirting with the idea of joining AEW in 2019. However, word is that nothing of the sort was discussed. Orton is scheduled to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at Bash in Berlin on Saturday, August 31.
