Massive changes to Royal Rumble 2025 reportedly planned by WWE
Royal Rumble is one of the greatest PLEs on the WWE calendar yearly. If reports are to be believed, a massive change could be made to the 2025 Rumble event.
In recent years, the company has shifted to holding more big events inside stadiums rather than smaller arenas. This has helped the company plan bigger events and take its product to the international market.
WWE is nearing a major multi-event deal that could see a major change come to the Rumble event. WrestleVotes has reported that the company is looking to sign a multi-event deal with the state of Indiana. The move could reportedly bring the 2025 Royal Rumble to the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Another major change that may have been planned is to move the PLE from the month of January to February 1. The deal could also include a future WrestleMania or SummerSlam at the venue.
"I’m told WWE & the Indiana Sports Corp are nearing a multi-event deal, starting with the 2025 Royal Rumble at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday, February 1st, 2025. In addition, the deal is likely to include a future WrestleMania & SummerSlam, which would both take place at Lucas Oil Stadium," WrestleVotes reported on X.

Royal Rumble has given fans some of the most exciting and memorable moments in wrestling history. Hosting it in a stadium could allow more fans to pour in for an even grander experience.
The 2024 WWE Royal Rumble winners won big at WrestleMania 40
The men’s and women’s Royal Rumbles were more than just exciting earlier this year. The women’s Rumble was won by Bayley, who decided to challenge her then-teammate IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Title. She won the title from SKY at WrestleMania 40.
Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes had a much more interesting journey after winning the men’s Rumble match in 2024. He almost gave up his WrestleMania 40 spot to The Rock, before taking a pin from The Great One on Night One of the show.
However, The American Nightmare got some help from John Cena and The Undertaker to win the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania.
It will be interesting to see who ends up on top following the 2025 edition of the PLE. A bigger event could help give some upcoming stars a major boost in their careers.
