New WWE star reportedly praised backstage at RAW
The WWE RAW brand has significant momentum as the Netflix era approaches. This week's show was another action-packed episode with several viral moments. A certain star was praised by fans for multiple happenings this week, and word now is that the lauding did not stop with the WWE Universe.
Joe Tessitore signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment back in July, which will allow him to continue working for ESPN and ABC. The veteran broadcaster made his RAW debut on September 2 and will call the action with Wade Barrett moving forward. Tessitore previously admitted that he did not have a great debut, but despite a bold prediction by Jim Ross, it seems the 53-year-old has already adjusted and found his groove.
Tessitore earned strong positive feedback during last night's RAW in Portland, with high marks on social media from fans and others in the industry. PWInsider adds that the 53-year-old also received significant internal praise last night.
A second source also reported the adulation for Tessitore today. Fightful Select notes that the Boston College graduate is getting heavy praise within WWE for his overall performance so far.
Tessitore was credited with adding a special touch to IYO SKY's win over Bianca Belair, along with Braun Strowman vs. Bronson Reed. There seems to be a feeling of Tessitore's overall work improving, but specifically last night's calls during the segment with Jey Uso and Bron Breakker, plus the show-closing angle with The Judgment Day and The Terror Twins.
Joe Tessitore jokes about WWE RAW action
Veteran broadcaster Joe Tessitore is approaching the end of his first month as the WWE RAW play-by-play announcer. He has already experienced several close calls at ringside, including the destruction caused by Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman.
The Monster of All Monsters and The King of Monsters have been going at it for weeks on RAW. The recent episode from Calgary saw Reed attack Strowman during the Triple Threat main event for a future Intercontinental Championship shot, which ended with Jey Uso pinning Pete Dunne. Tessitore was praised for his animated reaction to the ringside brawl and later took to Instagram to tag the heavyweight superstars.
"C’mon guys… not the new desk! [grimacing face emoji] Googling ‘how to talk to co-workers about boundaries’ [winking face with tongue emoji] @wwe @bronsonishere @adamscherr99," Joe Tessitore wrote with the photos below.
Tessitore has not posted to X since October 2023. He wasn't very active on Instagram either, but it appears he has increased activity on the platform since debuting for World Wrestling Entertainment.
