Popular WWE Superstar has reportedly taken on backstage role - Reports
WWE Superstars gain immense knowledge throughout their careers, and sometimes they are invited to work behind the scenes. A veteran star who recently returned to the company is now reportedly wearing another hat.
Shawn Spears is back with World Wrestling Entertainment. The popular grappler was originally signed to the company back in 2006 and was released in January 2009. His second run with the promotion came in September 2013, now working under the ring name, Tye Dillinger, he gained some popularity among fans but was cut again in February 2019. Spears later signed with AEW and spent over five years before making a surprise return to Titanland this past February and has been on the NXT brand ever since.
The Chairman also runs Flatbacks Wrestling School in Apopka, Florida, along with Tyler Breeze. This makes the former FCW Florida Tag Team Champion perfect for his new role at the Performance Center. A new report from Fightful Select notes that Spears began working as a producer at Tuesday's NXT taping.
Spears was shadowing NXT Producer Johnny Moss on Tuesday night, helping him produce both women's matches - Lola Vice's win over Sol Ruca and Tatum Paxley defeating Thea Hail. It remains to be seen if The Perfect 10 is making a full-time transition to working backstage.
Wesley Blake and Oney Lorcan are among the former talents who are now working as producers and coaches.
Moss also works as a trainer and assistant coach at the Performance Center. The new report notes how the UK veteran is universally liked from a talent perspective, as both a coach and producer.
