Potential reason why Jeff Hardy lasted longer in WWE than his brother - Reports
AEW star Jeff Hardy lasted longer in WWE than his brother Matt Hardy and a potential reason behind that may have been revealed.
After returning together to WWE at WrestleMania 33, Matt Hardy's contract expired in 2020, and he made his memorable debut in All Elite Wrestling shortly after. Matt arrived in All Elite Wrestling during the pandemic and interrupted the Inner Circle with his Vanguard-1 drone. Jeff Hardy was released in 2021 and has since joined All Elite Wrestling as well.
Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer had an interaction with a wrestling fan today on social media. The conversation was about wrestling promotions freezing the contract of an injured superstar to add more time to their deal. One fan wondered if this was why Jeff Hardy's last run in WWE was longer than his brother's, and Dave Meltzer stated that was the reason why.
Jeff had to step away from the promotion due to personal reasons but recently returned to align with his brother against The Firm stable in AEW.
Former WWE star Matt Hardy wants Jeff Hardy to have several dream matches in AEW
The Hardy Boyz are a legendary tag team that has already solidified their legacies in WWE, but Matt still wants to see his brother to shine in All Elite Wrestling.
Speaking on his The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt suggested several dream matches for Jeff Hardy, including a bout against former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega.
"Oh my. Lemme think about this a little bit… Ah, the first one is Kenny Omega! Uh, Jungle Boy. Sammy Guevara. MJF. And I’d say, Wardlow."
Jeff and Matt Hardy's last match together as a tag team was a victory over The Young Bucks at last year's Double or Nothing event. It will be interesting to see if the iconic tag team can put together another run in AEW and remind wrestling fans of how talented they are.
