Former WWE writer makes huge claim following John Cena's retirement announcement
John Cena made a surprising appearance at the most recently concluded premium live event to make the heartbreaking announcement about his retirement.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, former WWE Head Writer Vince Russo pointed out that Cena had a great relationship with Vince McMahon. The 63-year-old speculated that the new management under TKO might have led to John Cena deciding to retire.
"I think Cena and Taker, from what I gather, were probably the two talents closest to Vince. That's what I could take away... So, I think Cena could be bowing out because Cena was a Vince McMahon guy. Cena might not like working under the great regime of Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Cena's made it clear, bro. We even heard stories. He was at Vince's birthday dinner. Remember all that stuff? So Cena may be a guy that's not big into the Triple H regime," he said. [From 11:35 onwards]
During the press conference, WWE Head of Creative Triple H opened up about John Cena's potential induction into the wrestling promotion's Hall of Fame. The Game mentioned that the veteran performer would make his way into the Hall of Fame. It will be interesting to see if Cena will win the record-breaking 17th World Championship before retiring.
