Potential spoiler on major upset planned for WWE Clash at the Castle

The second edition of WWE Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event is scheduled to take place in Scotland this Saturday. The highly-anticipated show is set to feature a star-studded lineup, and there is a possibility that a major upset might be on the cards.

Alpha Academy leader Chad Gable will challenge Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship at the premium live event. The 38-year-old turned heel and attacked the former Bloodline in front of his wife after losing the title match to the latter on the April 15 edition of Monday Night RAW. He defeated the champion in a non-title match on the red brand the following month before failing to dethrone Sami Zayn in a Triple-Threat match at King and Queen of the Ring, which also featured Bronson Reed.

According to BetOnline, Chad Gable is the favorite to become the new Intercontinental Champion at Clash at the Castle. The odds currently stand marginally in favor of the former tag team champion at -150, equating to a 60% chance of winning. The odds in favor of the champion retaining, however, stand at 110, corresponding to a probability of 47.6 %.

After turning heel, Chad Gable has been mistreating his fellow Alpha Academy teammates. Despite Sami Zayn urging them to stand up for themselves and turn against their leader, the group is still intact. Otis, however, has threatened to attack Master Gable on multiple occasions.

On his The Wrestling Matt Show podcast, former WWE's The Bump host Matt Camp stated that the storyline between Otis and Gable would continue next week on RAW. He further suggested that the Alpha Academy leader must win the title at the premium live event in Scotland:

"We're gonna get Sami and Otis next week but we're getting the IC Title match in Scotland. And absolutely Chad Gable should win that," he said. [38:22 - 38:27]

Chad Gable has been a tag team champion on all three brands of the Stamford-based company. However, the former Olympian would look to win his first singles title at the premium live event.
