Reason for CM Punk’s Crown Jewel absence revealed - Reports
WWE Superstar CM Punk recently announced that he would be taking a break following his brutal match with Drew McIntyre. The Second City Saint has not been advertised for the upcoming Crown Jewel Premium Live Event. A recent report sheds light on a possible reason behind his absence from the show.
Before he signed with AEW in 2021, The Best in the World joined WWE Backstage as a special contributor and analyst. On one of the episodes, The Miz fired shots at Punk. In response, the latter delivered a controversial message on social media, targeting The A-lister and the Stamford-based company's association with Saudi Arabia.
During a recent Fightful Select Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp addressed a question regarding the actual reason behind CM Punk not appearing at the Saudi Premium Live Event. SRS claimed that it could be because of his moral standpoint and the controversial remarks he had made in the past.
Wrestling veteran shares his honest opinion on CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre storyline
The rivalry between Punk and Drew McIntyre has been one of the most engaging ones in professional wrestling this year. Wrestling veteran Stevie Richards recently shared his honest opinion on the feud between the two former WWE Champions.
Speaking on The Stevie Richards Show, the former WWE Hardcore Champion pointed out that the storyline progressed consistently and had fans' attention throughout. He further talked about the involvement of Seth Rollins and Damian Priest before going back into their own storylines. Richards added that it worked very well for everyone involved.
"With [CM] Punk and Drew [McIntyre], it's got a definitive weekly episodic, and then throughout pay-per-views, even monthly, or every three weeks, whatever the interval is, you know the storyline is progressing. Each time, each person has something to say. Sure, you sprinkle in Seth Rollins here and there. Damian Priest here and there. You have these people that kind of come into the universe or the solar system of Punk and Drew, but then they go back off into their program. So everybody is kind of like getting everybody over within those," he said. [0:21 - 0:56]
