Recently drafted WWE Superstar's contract set to expire soon - Reports

A recently drafted WWE Superstar's contract is reportedly going to expire soon. The WWE Draft went down following this year's WrestleMania, and many superstars were given a fresh start on a new brand.

In addition to stars switching brands on the main roster, a few NXT stars were also picked during this year's draft. Carmelo Hayes was a first overall selection, Lyra Valkyria was selected by RAW and made it to the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament, and more NXT stars were picked as well.

Dijak was selected by RAW last month, but it has been reported by Fightful Select that the veteran's contract will be expiring in a month.

Dijak has been signed to WWE since 2017 but has never captured a championship during his tenure with the company.

Wrestling legend Vince Russo criticizes the WWE Draft

Vince Russo recently took the Stamford-based promotion to task for the way the WWE Draft was presented on television.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW show last month, Russo stated that the entire draft was "ridiculous." The wrestling veteran added that the promotion needs to go back to one roster and suggested that the company abandon the draft entirely.

Russo stated that the drafts were done to pop a rating every year and he would much rather see the company focus on storylines.

"We had it on Friday night, we had it tonight. Most of the people are staying on the same shows that they were on. The entire Draft is absolutely ridiculous. It should go back to one roster. Eliminate some of the fat, a lot of these people that shouldn't even be on these shows. Carry storylines through SmackDown and RAW. We just have these absolute useless drafts for them to pop a number every year. I don't know, do you feel differently than I do?" [From 2:45 onwards]

Dijak was initially called up to the main roster as part of the now-disbanded RETRIBUTION faction and competed as "T-Bar." Only time will tell what the future holds for the veteran and if he will re-sign with the company before his contract expires.
