Reported reason why WWE still hasn't released WrestleMania XL: Behind the Curtain documentary
A former WWE writer has shared a major update on the WrestleMania XL documentary, which was scheduled for April 10 but hasn't been released yet. The name in question is Brian Gewirtz.
WrestleMania XL was a massive success, and The Rock had a lot to do with it. He was heavily involved in the main event of Night Two of The Show of Shows and almost succeeded in helping Roman Reigns retain his title.
WWE announced a behind-the-scenes documentary during WrestleMania XL and it was scheduled to be released on April 10. It's been more than a month, and the documentary hasn't been released yet.
Former WWE writer Brian Gewirtz recently made an appearance on The Masked Man Show and shared a big update on the documentary. He felt there was an error in promoting the documentary too early because it was not ready to be released.
"So, first of all, let me just say, there is, believe it or not, there is an awesome doc that WWE is gonna be putting out. The Rock isn’t holding (it) hostage, you know, until he has approval of every frame. I think there was an error in terms of promoting it so soon because it wasn’t ready to come out. So, that was an error that was made. But, this is a doc that went from, I think, 11 minutes to 45 minutes. Now, it’s over an hour and it’s pretty awesome and it will be coming out in some form pretty soon is my understanding." [H/T POST Wrestling]
WrestleMania XL featured two huge main events
On Night One of WrestleMania, Roman Reigns and The Rock took on Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in the main event. In the end, The Brahma Bull pinned The American Nightmare to pick up the win for The Bloodline.
The win gave Roman Reigns the upper hand on Night Two as the match was contested under Bloodline rules.
The bout was marred by interferences from several top stars, including The Undertaker and John Cena. In the end, Cody Rhodes pinned Reigns to win his first-ever world title in WWE.
