Roman Reigns lands major project outside WWE - Reports

WWE Superstar Roman Reigns is reportedly set to be part of a major project outside the Stamford-based company.

The 38-year-old is arguably one of the greatest WWE Superstars of his generation. The former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion's most recent in-ring appearance was a loss to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL, ending his 1,316-day title reign.

According to IMDB, Roman Reigns has a part in an action comedy film titled Good Fortune, starring Keanu Reeves. The project, written and directed by Aziz Ansari, also features several other big names, including Seth Rogen, Keke Palmer, and more.

Roman Reigns opens up about the time he considered retirement

Roman Reigns decided to step away from WWE during the pandemic, only to return months later to kickstart one of the most successful runs in recent times. The entire Bloodline storyline and his portrayal of The Tribal Chief received praise from fans.

In the latest A&E Biography: WWE Legends, the former Shield member stated that he chose to leave during the pandemic for his and his family's safety. The Bloodline leader claimed that he was ready to retire. However, stepping away from the ring gave him time to reflect on his career and realize he had yet to reach his full potential:

"I made the choice to just go home, and I told them, 'Until We can figure out how to make it safe, I'm not putting me or my family at risk.' I was ready to retire, and once I fully removed myself by choice, not due to circumstances, that's when I was able to be truthful with myself. That's when I could really take an authentic genuine eye and look at what I've been doing and look at what I've done. That's when I knew I just wasn't happy with it. I still felt like I didn't achieve what I had set out to do. I didn't reach my potential. I was still under that ceiling, and it was time to break it," he said.

Roman Reigns has yet to make an appearance on WWE television following his loss to Cody Rhodes on The Grandest Stage of Them All. It will be intriguing to see what lies ahead for The Tribal Chief, especially after what Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga did on SmackDown last week.
