Roman Reigns WWE return date seemingly revealed - Reports
Roman Reigns' return date has seemingly been revealed. The veteran was attacked by The Bloodline on the August 16 edition of WWE SmackDown.
Solo Sikoa battled Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of SummerSlam last month in Cleveland, Ohio. Reigns returned during the match and cost Sikoa his opportunity to become champion. It was Roman's first appearance since losing the title to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL. The Bloodline got revenge on Reigns last month and Powerbombed him through the announce table, and The Head of the Table has not returned since.
SmackDown will be moving from Fox to the USA Network next Friday night. USA took to social media today and shared a promotional graphic featuring Reigns to hype next week's show.
"The OTC has spoken! #SmackDown returns home to USA Network on September 13. Acknowledge it."
Solo Sikoa named himself the new Tribal Chief during Reigns' hiatus from the company. He kicked Jimmy Uso out of the group following his loss to Jey Uso at WrestleMania and ordered The Bloodline to attack Paul Heyman on the June 28 edition of SmackDown at Madison Square Garden. Sikoa has also welcomed Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa to the faction during Roman's absence from WWE television.
Ex-WWE writer makes interesting claim about Roman Reigns and The Bloodline
Wrestling veteran Vince Russo recently suggested that Roman Reigns and The Bloodline's storyline was not good enough to bring in new viewers on SmackDown.
The Bloodline has captivated wrestling fans in recent years, but Vince Russo doesn't believe it has led to an increase in viewership. Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW show, Russo suggested that the storyline wasn't captivating enough to create new fans for the promotion.
"Let me tell you something, The Bloodline and Roman Reigns, that wasn’t good enough for them to draw new viewers to the show. Roman Reigns and The Bloodline was not gonna take it from 2 million to 3.6 million people." [From 46:12 onwards]
