WWE rumor round up: potential heel turn, Sting's return to the ring, next Paul Heyman guy and more
In the recent round up of rumors coming in, it seems that Dean Ambrose could possibly turn heel and turn on his shield brother Roman Reigns. It has been long awaited for months that one of the two would turn heel as both have been overly friendly with each other.
As Vince McMahon is hell bent on making Reign his next top babyface, it seems evident that Ambrose is in line for a heel turn, which would be good considering he isn’t going anywhere in his current role as the sidekick to Reigns. Whether that happens at Summerslam is yet to be seen
In updates coming in about Sting, it is reported that he might make his in-ring return at Night Of Champions that is going to be held at his home town in Texas. He was originally supposed to return at Summerslam in a six man tag match aiding Reigns and Ambrose against the Wyatt family but due to the star power already on the card, it seems he would join the shield duo at Night Of Champions. He seems to have gotten himself in good shape and is expected to return as soon as Erick Rowan comes back from injury. Other rumored matches on the card include Seth Rollins vs. John Cena, Nikki Bella vs Charlotte, Prime Time Players vs. Lucha Dragons and Ryback vs. Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens for the IC title.
- NXT Champion Finn Balor recently posted a photo on twitter that teased the possibility of him being the next Paul Heyman guy.
It could be that Balor is just trying to get in the heads of his fans, but there is always a possibility that it might be announced during SummerSlam weekend. On the desk is a picture of Finn Balor which sits right next to a statue of Brock Lesnar. Looking at the wall, the date of SummerSlam is written in red as is “Demon” for Balor and “King” which is presumably for Paul Heyman. All we can do is to wait and watch who the coveted title of being a “Paul Heyman” guy goes to next.
- Balor faces Kevin Owens at NXT takeover for the NXT title in a ladder match on the 22nd of August. Owens was seen carrying the NXT title to the ring at a recent NXT taping in which he faced Neville, hinting that a title change might be on the cards at Takeover but that might be a WWE ploy to keep the finish interesting.
