Rumor killer on CM Punk deal negotiations; WWE pushing for a "bigger" contract - Reports

Several reports regarding CM Punk's current deal with WWE have been doing the rounds in the past few days, which now have turned out to be false. A rumor killer report has debunked the recent ones floating about the Straight Edge Superstar, who was apparently trying to restructure his deal with the Stamford-based company for his benefit.

CM Punk made his grand return to World Wrestling Entertainment at Survivor Series: WarGames 2023 and sent shockwaves through the entire industry. However, he was unfortunate to get injured in his first official bout at the Men's Royal Rumble Match, earlier this year. Since then, the former WWE Champion hasn't been allowed to wrestle, so he has made the occasional appearance to keep his feud with Drew McIntyre going.

Reports had recently been making the rounds regarding The Best in the World trying to re-structure his deal with the Stamford-based promotion for his benefit. These reports suggested that he was on a short-term contract and that he wanted a longer one. PWinsider has come out with a report debunking this story, stating that he has a three-year deal with the company, which expires in November 2026.

It was further stated that it was WWE who first approached CM Punk for a fresh deal, rather than the other way around. The term "bigger" was used to describe the negotiations for the new deal and the terminology of the reasoning was, "New World. Huge Numbers. Merch and socials."
