Seth Rollins not going to be involved in Top SummerSlam match despite major tease - Reports
There seems to be no proper plan in place for Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2024. Despite the recent tease, it looks like he isn't going to be involved in one of the top marquee matches of the card.
Seth Rollins has had a frustrating spell in WWE in 2024. Apart from his partial MCL tear earlier in the year, he lost his first proper WrestleMania main event on Night 1 and then lost his World Heavyweight Championship to Drew McIntyre on Night 2. Upon his return a couple of months later, Rollins was given the chance to challenge Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship. He would fall short after the debacle involving Drew McIntyre's Money in the Bank cash-in and CM Punk's interference.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is not planning on adding Seth Rollins to the CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre match at SummerSlam to make it a Triple Threat bout. There are talks of an involvement of sorts, but not adding him to the mix outright.
It should be noted that CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre isn't official for SummerSlam as of this writing.
A previous report also hinted at Seth Rollins being involved in some capacity in the CM Punk-Drew McIntyre match
There have been a lot of questions surrounding the SummerSlam status of The Visionary. Last week on RAW, he completely decimated CM Punk on the mic to seemingly kickstart their rivalry again.
PWInsider also reported that WWE is planning to have Rollins involved in some capacity for the CM Punk-Drew McIntyre match at SummerSlam.
If Rollins ends up costing Punk the match, it could finally lead to them picking up their rivalry. They were originally set to headline WrestleMania Saturday until Punk's injury changed the entire card, which is what we eventually got.
