Surprising update on Shane McMahon's potential AEW future - Reports

There has been a surprising update in regards to Shane McMahon possibly heading to All Elite Wrestling. There have been rumors of the former WWE authority figure having an interest in joining the promotion in recent weeks.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, there have not been discussions in All Elite Wrestling of McMahon possibly coming to the company. AEW president Tony Khan recently told the Wrestling Observer that he has never had a conversation with the 54-year-old.

The report noted that Shane O'Mac didn't appear to be opposed to joining All Elite Wrestling but there has not been interest by the company so far. McMahon is no longer under any type of contract with WWE and his appearance in WWE 2K24 was a "separate agreement."

McMahon appeared at WWE WrestleMania 39 but suffered a significant injury during his impromptu match against The Miz.

Former WWE writer suggests Shane McMahon is trying to purchase AEW

Vince Russo recently stated that Shane McMahon is likely looking to be much more than a performer in AEW and could be trying to purchase the company with his father.

Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws show, Russo suggested that Vince McMahon may want his son to purchase AEW. He noted that the 78-year-old is cashing out all of his WWE stock and wondered if Vince McMahon was behind the rumors of his son's interest in All Elite Wrestling.

"Triple H is married to Stephanie [McMahon], Shane's [McMahon] got nothing to do with that company. Bro, nobody is gonna go in business with Vince McMahon. Nobody. However, Shane McMahon is as clean as a whistle. He's got nothing to do with the new company, he's got nothing to do with the WWE, Vince [McMahon] is cashing out all this stock. You don't think Vince [McMahon] is behind Shane [McMahon] fishing around at AEW?" [From 07:38 to 08:09]
